What is Depression?

Depression is a mood disorder that affects how you feel, think, and function in daily life. It’s not just sadness or a reaction to a difficult situation—it’s a clinical mental health condition that can persist for weeks, months, or even years if untreated. it is characterized by a persistent feeling of sadness and/or lack of interest in activities you once enjoyed. Symptoms of depression can vary from person to person but often include:

  2. Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed.

  3. Fatigue or lack of energy, even with rest.

  4. Changes in appetite or weight.

  5. Difficulty concentrating or making decisions.

  6. Feelings of worthlessness, guilt, or hopelessness.

  7. Physical symptoms, such as headaches or stomachaches.

  8. In severe cases, thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
